Carol Getzinger

Carol Getzinger 77 passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday September 9 2011. Carol was born on May 18 1934 in Akron. She was preceded in death by her parents Emmet and Betty Conway. Carol is survived by her husband of 48 years Tom Getzinger; son Greg (Alisa) Getzinger; daughters Beth (Rod) Rozumny Sue (Mike) Heinl and Mary Morber; grandchildren Meghan and Brian Rozumny Kaitlynn and Matthew Heinl and Margaret and Katie Morber; brother Bob (Cathie) Conway; and sister Ann (Bob) Pipoly. Carol graduated from St. Sebastian Grade School St. Vincent High School and St. Thomas School of Nursing. She worked as an R.N. at St. Thomas Hospital for Dr. Carl Mader and in the Infirmary at Our Lady of the Elms. She attended daily Mass and had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Rosary. Carol and Tom enjoyed spending time together and sharing the love of their faith with their children and grandchildren. She volunteered for the Barberton Area Christian Ministries and the Barberton Soup Kitchen. Mass of Christian burial Monday September 12 2011 at noon at St. Francis de Sales Church 4019 Manchester Rd Akron OH 44319. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
