Carlos Shorter

Carlos Shorter, beloved husband of Eleanor Shorter and father of five, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, December 13th at the age of 93. Carlos was born in Glen Daniel, West Virginia to Hettie and Clyde Shorter and married A. Doreen Toney. After Doreen's untimely death in 1977, Carlos met and married Eleanor Narris and they have been together for 44 years. Carlos was an avid sportsman excelling in football and basketball in high school. He loved the outdoors and relished his time in the Monongahela National Forest hunting and fishing. He was active in the Copley Athletic Association and gave generously of his time to the youth of Copley. Carlos graduated from Coyne Electric and Radio School in Chicago, then moved his family to Ohio and began his career as a commercial electrician. He was a member of IBEW Local 306.

He was preceded in death by parents Clyde and Hettie, wife Doreen, son Bradley and siblings Ruby, Carl, and Alma. Carlos is survived by wife Eleanor, sister Mary Utt, sons Gary (Joyce), Douglas (Sandy), Mark (Debbie) and daughter Carla Spears (Scott), grandchildren Elizabeth, Amy, Robin, Monica, Dawn, Megan, Anna, Allison Spears, Josh Spears and many great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 5:30 PM at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. COPLEY. The Family will receive friends at 4 PM until the time of service. A private interment of ashes will be held for the family in Copley Cemetery.
