Betty Walter

October 18, 1921 — December 28, 2013

Betty Ball Walter 92 of Copley passed away on December 28 2013. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard son Mike and daughter Donna. A graduate of Our Lady of the Elms she attended Stephens College before graduating from Miami University (Oxford Ohio) with her BS degree in Business. Her working career began at Henry B. Ball Jewelers (her father's company) and later she co-founded the Town N' Country hardware store in Copley along with Walter Properties (Walterville). Later in life she became a realtor working for Marting Real Estate. Always active Betty was an avid swimmer as well as a yoga and Pilate's enthusiast. An avid traveler she and Richard shared many trips around the country and the world. Betty was a member of Fairlawn Country Club Guardian Angels church Witan and the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Her faith was a constant source of comfort to her throughout her life and she was always praying for the benefit of family friends and those in need. Betty was a busy mother of five who saw her family grow to include eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is survived by son Ric (Mary) Walter daughters Chris (Mike) Cox and Penny (Tom) Pickett. Her grandchildren are: Cammie Andrea Marie Jenny Emily Elliott Ricky and Tyler. Calling hours will be from 4-8pm at Hummel Funeral Home (3475 Copley Rd. Copley Ohio) on Thursday January 2nd. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Guardian Angels (Copley) on Friday January 3rd at 10am.
