Bernard Michael Schur went to be with his Lord on his 86th birthday January 29 2012. He was born in Akron to the late Michael and Elizabeth Schur; he was preceded in death by his son Thomas Schur. Bernie retired from Acme Grocery Co. with 37 years of service. He was a World War II Army Veteran 94th division and was a guard at the Nuremburg Trials in Germany. Bernie fought the good fight for the 16 years that he lived with Parkinsons. His great love was his faith in God and his loved ones. He will be forever missed by his loving family. Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Carol Schur; daughter Ann (Dan) McPeek; grandsons Brian and Alan McPeek; sisters Dorothy Gordon Helen Schur and Sister Elizabeth Schur CSA; nieces and nephews; many good friends and neighbors; and his special angels Becca and Lauren. Bernie's family would like to thank the many caregivers at Wadsworth Altercare. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday February 2 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 260 Broad St Wadsworth 44281. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Hummel Funeral Home 3475 Copley Rd COPLEY on Wednesday February 1 from 4-7 PM.
