Barbara Rhodenbaugh

Barbara Rhodenbaugh (nee Coberly), 89, passed away peacefully June 15, 2017. The daughter of Ohley and Ruie (Taylor) Coberly, she was born in Akron and was an Akron resident all her life. Barbara was preceded in death by husband Jerry David Rhodenbaugh and daughter Jan Martha Rhodenbaugh Gibson. She is survived by daughter Susan Yovichin; life-long friend Marlyn Warner, relatives and friends. Barbara worked as an executive secretary for Consolidated Freightways for over 40 years. She was a past president of the American Legion Auxillary, Unit 209 and long-time chair of its Children and Youth Program. She was also a member of the Summit County Federation of Womens Clubs. A loving, generous and compassionate person, she was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. She made many lasting friendships and will be remembered for her warmth, quiet strength and great sense of humor. The family will receive friends Saturday 1-2 pm at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., Akron where funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Dr. Mark Ruppert of The Vine Fellowship officiating.
