Barbara Loftus

Barbara K. Loftus, born on August 14, 1939 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and died July 5, 2016. She was the daughter of the late James A. and Mary E. Loftus. Barb was a graduate of St. Joseph Elementary School, Cuyahoga Falls, St. Vincent High School, Class of 1957 and The University of Akron with a degree in Elementary Education. She was preceded in death by her brother, William G. Loftus and sister, Mary Ann Cullen. She is survived by her siblings, Martha Lugosi of California, James (Lynn) Loftus of Cuyahoga Falls and Dorothy (James) Ransweiler of California and many nieces and nephews. In later life, Barb volunteered her time knitting scarfs and hats for the less fortunate. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 Saturday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave. Akron, Ohio 44308, in honor of her grandfather, William Ginther, the architect of the church. Calling hours will be 9-9:45 Saturday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio.
