Arthur L. Bell Jr. 73 of Norton passed away on November 15 2004 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Arthur was born in Akron and was a graduate of The University of Akron. He was a U.S. Air Force Pilot (Captain) during the Korean War. Arthur served as principal of Norton St. John the Baptist St. Vincent de Paul and Holy Family Stow elementary schools. He was a member of the Summit County Retired Teachers Assn. Arthur served as president of St. Vincent de Paul Society as well as president of the church council at St. Andrew the Apostle Church. He worked with the Barberton United Way Children's Fund; organized and distributed Christmas food baskets for many years in Norton. He was a regular blood donor for the Red Cross. In addition he delivered Mobile Meals in the Barberton area and he volunteered at Children's Hospital. He is survived by his wife Dolores Marie (Fields) daughters and son-in-law; Catherine (Zen) Porchowsky Loretta Byrnes; sons and daughters-in-law; Michael (Diana) David (Ria) and Edmund (Maggie); sister and brother -in-law; Carol (Norm) Edmunds. He will be deeply missed by his 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who loved him so very much. Arthur cherished his many dear friends. We thank all those who offered their love prayers and support. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday November 19 2004 10 am at St. Andrew The Apostle Catholic Church. Fr.
