VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Anna Karras Nervo 85 was peacefully called to the Lord on December 1 2004. A native of Akron Anna spent the last four years in Athens Tennessee near her daughter and son-in-law.During World War II Anna worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber as a secretary where she also helped make life rafts for the American troops. She left Goodyear to become a mother and homemaker and returned to work in the company's freight accounting department years later. A woman of strong Catholic faith Anna was a lifelong member of the Annunciation Catholic Church. Known for the sweetness and generosity of her soul Anna was also a deeply devoted and adoring mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert Nervo; parents George and Julia Karras; brother George Karras Jr.; sister Julia ''Jay'' Karras Goldsmith; and special friend Jack Nichols. Anna is survived by a loving and devoted daughter Barbara ''Joey'' Nervo Bever and son-in-law Robert Bever both of Englewood Tennessee; dear granddaughters Gina Bever of Chattanooga Tennessee and Stephanie Bever of Nashville Tennessee; sister Lillian Podrosky; brother Edward James Karras; aunt Anna ''Cet'' Osco; and numerous nieces nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday December 6 2004 at the Annunciation Catholic Church 87 Broad St. Family and friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. on Sunday December 5 2004 from 2 to 6 pm. Anna will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
