Ann Myers Miller 61 of Valley City Ohio passed away peacefully on November 26 2011. Ann was born in Akron Ohio and graduated from Firestone High School class of 1968. Ann's relationship with her beloved husband and lifetime soul mate John Robert Miller started in the 8th grade and- unlike most others- continued to this date. Ann's education continued at Ohio University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. Ann and Jack were married at Congress Lake Country Club on July 21 1973. Ann began her career as a Special Education teacher in Akron from 1976-1993. From 1994 to present Ann has been a school-based Case Manager for Child Guidance and Family Solutions. Ann had a never-ending commitment and deep passion for helping her clientele with their special challenges. After raising their only daughter Ashley Ann and Jack moved from Akron to Valley City in 2000 to enjoy country living at 'the prairie' and raise Bernese Mountain dogs. Ann's deepest love was her grandchildren Annie and Erik who she endearingly referred to as 'the dessert of my life.' Ann was a uniquely chic trendsetter a gourmet cook and an avid crafter. At times impulsive often impatient but always with a genuine smile. An eclectic woman. Ann's remarkable creativity keen eye for fashion and lively outgoing personality made her truly one of a kind. Loyal to an extreme. All-caring and genuinely selfless. Her extraordinary sense of humor witty expressions and honest commentary could send a room into laughter. She was ever present to help her friends when in need and shower her family with love. Ann was the most phenomenal loving mother in the world. Ann and Ashley shared a profoundly passionate mother-daughter bond full of respect devotion and endless sarcasm. Ashley cherished Ann for her empathically sincere guidance on the ''do's and don'ts'' of life and clever advice on proper etiquette. Ann was the most caring giving 'Ya Ya' that her grandchildren could have been blessed with; she was fabulous fun and full of charisma. Ann was truly a lovely special woman who will be deeply missed. Her bright dazzling light will forever continue to shine. Ann was preceded in death by her beloved father James A. Myers her dear cousin Frederick F. Myers III and childhood best friend Jane F. Comunale. Ann is survived by her lifelong love and devoted husband Jack; daughter and best friend forever Ashley M. (Erik) Szyluk; granddaughter Ann Elizabeth Szyluk and grandson Erik Kristofer Szyluk Jr; mother Elizabeth B. Myers; siblings James M. Myers Jane B. (Tom) Rozuk John F. Myers and George B. Myers; nephews and nieces James H. (Mara) Myers John M. Myers Regen B. Myers Kyle Brode and Tom Rozuk Emmye and John-Thomas Myers. Friends and family may come pay their respects at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. in Akron on Tuesday November 29 2011 from 4-7 PM. A memorial service will be held at Church of our Savior at 421 Crosby St. in Akron on Wednesday at 11am.
