VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Angelo A. Lucia 82 died peacefully Monday June 5 2006. He was born in Calabria Italy and came to the United States in 1929. He graduated from Old South High School and attended the University of Akron. Angelo retired from General Tire and Rubber Company after 43 years service in Tire Development and later the International Division. He resided in Ecuador and Morocco and visited many other locations for the company. He was a member of the American Chemical Society Rubber Division the Knights of Columbus S. Akron #3410 the Gentirees and St. Sebastian Church where he enjoyed working with the grounds committee. An avid golfer and member of numerous bowling leagues he and his wife Diana enjoyed the lasting friendships made through St. Sebastian Bridge flights the Christ Child Society's Gourmet group the movie nights with good friends and most of all the monthly 'club' nights with long time school friends of Angelo. Preceded in death by parents Christina and Dominick he is survived by loving wife Diana whom he met and married in Casablanca Morocco; children Christopher (Kerry) Lucia of Powell OH Catherine (Daniel) Hawk of Flat Rock MI and Peter of Akron; grandchildren Edward Daniel and Annie Bridget Lucia Emily and Rachel Hawk; brother Frank (Frances) Lucia of Akron; niece Christine and her children Laura Amy and Sam of Rock Hill SC; Mother-in-law Joyce Modern and sister-in-law Frances Turtle of Harrogate England. The family wishes to thank the staff at Wyant Woods Care Center and to the many caring friends and neighbors. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday June 9 at 10 AM at St. Sebastian Church 476 Mull Avenue Akron. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday June 8 4-8 PM at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange Street Akron.
