Alma M. (Bisson) Smith

Alma Smith passed away on July 29, 2023, at the age of 94. A lifelong resident of the Akron area, Alma graduated from North High School, earned her RN from Akron City Hospital School of Nursing, then received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Akron University. Alma spent her career in various administrative, teaching, and patient care nursing positions in the Akron area.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Albert Bisson of Barberton, Ohio; her brother, Albert J. Bisson of Monterey, California; her husband of 40 years, Bruce G. Smith of Copley, Ohio, and her step-son, Bruce G. Smith III of Dublin, Ohio. She is survived by her step-daughter, Christine S. Golden (Michael L.) of Sugar Land, Texas, step-grandsons, Michael P. Golden of Sugar Land, Texas, and Steven Smith (Katherine Armstrong Smith) of Dallas, Texas, Stephen Kandel (Malla Rie), and step-daughter-in-law Jill Kandel Smith (Dublin, Ohio). She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Norma (DeVitis) Bisson of Monterey, California, her niece, Maryann Bisson Tope, and nephews, Michael A. Bisson and John A. Bisson.

Private Interment at Copley Cemetery will be held at a later date.
