Allan Bennett

Allan Edward Bennett 5/25/1937 - 8/12/2014 passed away peacefully at his home in Akron, Ohio. He leaves children Cindy Franklin (Wayne), Mark Bennett, and Kim Davis (Mark) and grandchildren Liz, Tiara, Gwendolyn, Mark, Jennifer, Kristen, Jeremiah, Moriah, and Jacob, and great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Evan, David, Andrew, Caitlin, Genevieve, Ulrich, Harper, Gabrielle, Liam and Maximum. Allan was preceded in death by siblings Milton, Frances, Mabel, Roland and Beth, and his parents, Ernest and Evelyn Bennett. He is survived by an older brother, Eugene Bennett. Allan was retired after working as a machinist in Akron. He served in the Corps of Engineers while in the National Guard, and was an amateur pilot who enjoyed gunsmithing, reading, crosswords, gardening, and making apple cider. Burial and a memorial will be held on Saturday, August 23rd. Burial at 2:00 pm at Rest Land Cemetery, followed by memorial at Kelso House Heritage Room until 4:30 pm.
