Alice Thompson

Alice J. Smith nee Von Gunten age 90 formerly of Copley passed away peacefully on Friday July 6 2012.Alice was a resident at Oak Crest in DeKalb IL. Alice was born in Copley on August 31 1921 to the late Ernest and Erma (Arnold) Von Gunten. She was a graduate of Copley High School. Alice and her late husband Ralph raised their family in Copley whom still reside in the area. She spent many of her later years in Venice FL enjoying her retirement along with special friend John Barris. She is survived by her children Robert (Claudia) Smith Michael (Debi) Smith; grandchildren Angela Rob (Missey) and Amber (Jason); brothers Chuck (Pauline) and Jim (Thelma) and sister Faye Hill. Alice is preceded in death by her husband Ralph husband Ted Thompson son Jerry Smith brother Bob sisters Irene Thelma and Joyce and John Barris. Funeral Services will take place Tuesday July 10 2012 at 2 PM at the Hummel funeral Home 3475 Copley Rd. Copley. The family will receive friends from 12 - PM prior to the service. Burial in Copley Cemetery to follow.
