Alice Edwards

Jean Edwards passed away peacefully on Friday February 1 2013 surrounded by her family and friends. Jean was born in Akron on July 21 1917 to the late Jack and Lenore Veling. In 1937 she married her husband Carl Raymond Edwards. She was a lifelong resident of the Cuyahoga Falls area. Jean was employed by the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium for many years where she developed and enjoyed rewarding relationships with the staff and members. She was a very happy person who enjoyed being a loving daughter wife mother and grandmother to many. Jean woke up every day happy and optimistic always caring more for others than herself. Her most important interests were her family friends and neighbors. Jean is preceded in death by her husband Carl her parents siblings Betty Veling Jack Veling David Veling Beth Ann Holderman Lucille Hageman and Evelyn Daunoris. She leaves behind her children Timothy D. (Cheryl) Edwards of Akron and Kenneth D. (Darlene) Edwards of Crossville TN; grandchildren Melanie Edwards Matthew (Jennifer) Edwards Rodney Edwards Michael (Kasey) Edwards Denise (Michael) Miller Sharon (Andrew) Holderman; great grandchildren Abby Molly Rooke Kylie Warren and Jonas and one great great grandson Riley. Jean will also be missed by her nieces and nephews Marilyn (Frank) Barber Charles (MaryLee) Hageman Linda Bernhart Dale Young and many grand nieces and grand nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to her Angels/caregivers who lived next door and who were instrumental in making the last years of her life healthy and happy Dan and Pat Nicholson and Barb Baker who loved her very much. The family would also like to thank everyone who helped mom through her last few months of life including the very caring staff members of Hospice of Summa. Cremation has taken place. Private memorial services for the family will take place.
