Albert Kleiza, of Fairlawn, affectionately known as Al, passed away on April 26, 2024. Al was born to Eveyln and Albert Kleiza on May 11, 1934.
A proud graduate of West Tech High in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Al furthered his education at Lehigh High University, where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating he worked for Babcox and Wilcox as a project manager.
In 1978, Al married the love of his life Betty Kortze. Their life was filled with traveling, love, laughter and golfing.
Al was an avid golfer but his first love was basketball where he played at Lehigh University, he also played in the Silver League in Akron and was known as the Silver Streak.
Preceded in death by his parents his first wife, Rosaline Kleiza, and sister Joan. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, daughters Anne Marie (John) and Cindy. Sister-in-law Sally Kortze. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, especially Patty, Jeanne, Duane, Dale, and Margaret.
He was a charter member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church, where he ushered for many years.
Calling hours will be held at Guardian Angels Catholic Church located at 1676 S Cleveland Massillon Rd, Copley, OH 44321 on May 11 at 10:00 am with a mass at 11:00am followed by a graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery. Donations can be made to Guardian Angels Catholic Church.
