Albert Good

August 14, 1921 — October 14, 2014

Albert Edward 'Ed' Good, Jr. Ed Good of Sharon Center, passed away October 14, 2014, after a short illness, at age 93. He was born August 14, 1921, to the late Albert E. Sr. and Selina Huntsberry Good. He graduated from Barberton High School and Wittenberg College. In college, he met the love of his life, Maryhelen Buchman. He served as a U.S. Navy officer in World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters and participated in the D-Day invasion at Normandy. While Ed was on shore leave between the Atlantic and Pacific theaters, he and Maryhelen married in Canton on September 23, 1944. Ed later said, 'It was the smartest move of my life.' Ed owned and managed Liniform (formerly Barberton Laundry & Cleaning), a company started by his father, and expanded the company throughout the years in products, services, and territories. The employees were very important to him. He was active in the company until recently. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Maryhelen. He will be missed by his son, Ed, and three daughters, Carolyn, Jane, and Susan, three sons-in-law, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren (with one more on the way). He will also be missed by Bertha Jenkins and Patricia Shultz, president and vice president of Liniform, whom he mentored for many years. The family would like to express its gratitude to Jenny Bonarrigo, Ed's health care service provider, for her years of dedicated, loyal, and loving service to him during his later years. The family will receive friends at 2 pm on Friday, October 24, 2014, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3300 Morewood Rd, Fairlawn, OH, for a celebration of Ed's life.
