Agnes Auker

Agnes M. Van Auker RN 86 left the bonds of earth to start her spiritual life with God on April 5 2011 after a six-month battle with cancer. She was a devoted and loving wife mother grandmother and great-grandmother. Born in Rochester NY on Dec 8th 1924 she attended Mercy High School then went on to complete her RN studies at St Mary's Hospital School of Nursing. She worked in the 60's and 70's at Rockynol Retirement Community in West Akron. She is survived by her husband Thomas of 61 years; sons Stephen (Deborah) of Copley John (Lynn) of Richfield Thomas Jr. (Tami) of Akron David (Sandra) of Akron and daughter Kelly Shaw of Akron; eight grandchildren and one great grandson sisters Eileen Quinn RSM and Marguerite Mahoney and many wonderful friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday April 7 2011 at the Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley Rd from 5 to 8 PM. A Christian Mass celebrating her life will be held at Guardian Angels Catholic Church 1686 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd Copley on Friday April 8 at 11 AM. Private burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at the Village at St. Edwards and the Visiting Nurse Service.
