View Memorial Photo TributeMrs. Judith Rainey Baughman (1945- 2008) passed away peacefully at her home on June 12 2008. She lived in Akron her whole life. She is survived by her two brothers John A. (Janet) Rainey of Springfield MO and Timothy G. Rainey (Susan Van Duyne PhD) of St. Charles IL. Her true joy in life were her daughters and their families Bridget Ann and Mickey Sengos Margaret Christopher Baughman and Matthew Sladky Sarah Keane and Vance Sanford; grandsons Travis Sengos (Annie Dammal) Brian Sengos Blake and Luke Sladky and granddaughter Jane Sanford. Also surviving her is extended family: Nancy Rainey Susan Sturdevant the Harvey family of New Jersey the Endresses of Akron and Florida Bill and Ann Cox Chris and Marie Baughman Beth and Dennis Jackson Tim and Susan Baughman Megan and Bruce Meyer Mike Baughman Lisa Glover John Michael (Jeannie) Rainey Col. Jim and Tracie Rainey Ali Della Volpe Maureen and Stephen Schiller Katy and Tim Miller Jenny and Doug Cooke Nate Cox Ben Cox Amy and Mike Driscoll Amanda and David Exner Matt Brock Kate and Matt Panzner PhD Samantha and Paul Starr Allison Elizabeth and Nicholas Baughman Betsy and Molly (Jon Zerbini) Wiseman Jake Bobby and Sarah Baughman and her many great-nieces and great-nephews cousins their spouses and their children. She was grateful for the formative influences that molded her; St. Mary Parish 1-12 classmates; CYO coaches Mary Kidder and Nancy Manion; The University of Akron; The Buchtelite; and the women of Theta Phi Alpha. She was employed by organizations whose mission she took her heart; St. Sebastian School PBS Channels 45-49 St. Vincent- St. Mary High School Goodwill Industries Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital East High School Litchfield Middle School and Buchtel High School. For many years she volunteered her time with numerous philanthropic and community organizations and was recognized for her continued efforts. She found a positive reason to enjoy each day despite health problems and through a quick wit and caring thought she brought happiness to many. The family would to thank the ladies of Theta Phi Alpha Ann B. Duke Joan Skully Ginny Balog Susan Zachardy Lynn Carroll Dr. Garimah Jones the staff at Headgames and a host of other special friends who provided continual love laughter and friendship. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 AM on Thursday June 19 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church 750 Main St Akron 44311. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St Akron on Wednesday June 18 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Mary Parish or The Anne Marie Stephenson Special Education Scholarship Fund at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School 15 N. Maple St. Akron 44303.
