Joseph Moffitt

Joseph (Joe) P Moffitt 55 of Akron passed away suddenly on February 3 2013. Joe was born in Akron attended St. Martha grade school and graduated from North High School. He was employed by Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems. Joe loved being with his family and friends. He looked forward each year to the annual Tappan Lake vacation where time was spent relaxing on a pontoon boat fishing sitting around the campfire and sharing his philosophy of life. Joe was preceded in death by his mother Marian R. (Nelson) Moffitt and brother Patrick J Moffitt. He is survived by his sons James of Lyndhurst and David of Akron; stepdaughter Bethanne Whitmore and her girls Tiffani and Lindsay of Cuyahoga Falls. The girls will miss their Papa Joe with all their hearts. He is also survived by his father and mother James A and Vivian Moffitt of Cuyahoga Falls; brother Bob (Susie) of North Canton; and sister Mary Rita (Tim) Chancey of Akron as well as many nieces nephews great nieces great nephews aunts uncles and cousins. A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday February 8 2013 at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St Akron. Family will receive friends on Thursday February 7 from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joe's name to a charity of your choice.
