James Hughes

James J. Hughes Jr. age 79 passed away after a long illness on Wednesday June 27 2012. James was born May 14 1933 to the late James and Viola (Petit) Hughes. James served in the United States Air Force for ten years as a Staff Sergeant. He also retired from the Goodyear Police Force after 32 years of employment. James is preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Ann Heitz. He leaves behind his loving wife Louise of 32 years; children Timothy (Cynthia) Terence (Pamela) and Beth Ann (Jack) Hendrickson; stepchildren Michalene (Michael) Ebbert Gregory (Mary Kate) Petras Christopher (Lee Ann) Petras and Brian (Lisa) Petras; brother Patrick (Janice); sister Rita (Paul) Moore and 14 grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday July 2 2012 11 AM at St. Sebastian Catholic Church 476 Mull Ave. Akron. Friends may call at the Hummel funeral home 3475 Copley Rd. Copley July 1 2012 from 2- 6 PM. Private interment will take place in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Hospice of VNS 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron 44333.
