Howard Joseph Boxler 84 of Akron died December 6 2009 after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Boxler; brothers Edwin Paul William; and sisters Mildred and Leona. Howard is survived by his sisters Rose Horinger and Dorothy (Thomas) McNeill; brothers Meryl and Robert Boxler; many nieces and nephews; and life long friends Tommy and Geri Hannah and their children Becky Duhon and Jimmy Hannah. Howard retired after 41 years from BF Goodrich he was a member of Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club and he was a member and past commander of VFW Post 1062. He served in the Pacific Theater as a Navy Seabee. Howard utilized his carpentry skills in service of many family and friends over the years. Mass of Christian Burial will held at 10:00 AM Thursday December 10 2009 at St. Francis De Sales Church 4019 Manchester Road Akron. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron on Wednesday evening from 4-8 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Hattie Larlam Foundation 9772 Diagonal Rd Mantua OH 44255.
